SO WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
Bardic Theatre strives to give the best theatre experience to its patrons and theatre trainees. Since its launch 30 years ago Bardic Theatre has continued to push its boundaries in terms of technical theatre advances, theatrical repertoire and theatre training. This hunger to evolve has aided the popularity of the group over the last three decades and that trend is set to continue. We need investment and support to make these happen:
- We want to raise the roof (quiet literally) and create a tower to allow us to use ‘fly’ scenery for the first time!
- Renovate the lower theatre space to allow for wheelchair access and install a lift from changing rooms to stage level - this will mean the whole theatre will be wheelchair friendly and enable the theatre to approach wheelchair groups as the stage and changing room facilities will be fully accessible
- Launch more projects that target disadvantaged and marginalised in our society using the medium of arts to deal with tough social issues such as domestic violence, mental health and poverty.
- Expand Bardic Theatre School by launching script writing, voice coaching and experimental theatre programmes
- Invest in more customer service training for Front of House; a highly important front door to all theatres
- New seating in the auditorium will make longer performances a more pleasant experience for our audiences
