Following the phenomenal success of Bardic’s groundbreaking production of West Side Story in 2024, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Northern Ireland premiere of the multi-award-winning musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, will take centre stage at Bardic in 2025!
Get ready to meet Jamie New—a 16-year-old with dreams as bold as his personality, hailing from a modest estate in Sheffield. Jamie isn’t your average teenager. While he may feel like an outsider, wrestling with self-doubt and uncertainty about his future, his ambition shines brighter than ever. He refuses to let fear—or anyone else—dull his sparkle.
With unwavering support from his amazing mum and best friends, Jamie takes on prejudice and bullying, defiantly stepping into the spotlight. Inspired by the 2011 BBC documentary about a young drag queen, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie follows Jamie’s courageous journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and celebration. From high school hallways to the streets of Sheffield, and all the way to the stage in fabulous heels, Jamie’s story is an empowering, joyous tribute to embracing who you truly are.
